San Francisco Weekend Recap 2/10-11, 2012

I had the pleasure of visiting the beautiful city on San Francisco this past weekend thanks in large part to my friend, DJ J-Trix, for hooking up the gigs. Most of my time was spent wandering the streets of downtown San Francisco and just taking in the air and culture of the city as much as I could. I stayed at a hotel on the corner of Kearny and Columbus, which just happened to be in the heart of Chinatown and near a strip of the local clubs that I would be performing at. Had a chance to indulge in some awesome Chinese food at R&G Lounge along with a few hole-in-the-wall spots. Bubble tea and snack shops are amazing in SF and highly recommended to anyone! The waterfront and fisherman’s wharf is also a great place to visit to catch some live street music and scope out some of SF’s beautiful piers, not to mention all the great restaurants established alongside the bay.

Friday night, my gig was at Apartment 24, on Broadway St. It resembled a lot of the more intimate but classier lounges I’m used to in DC which made me feel right at home. The crowd rocked and I have to give a big shoutout to Jason Lok, Ray Wong, James Feng, Caitlyn Chi, and the entire Apartment 24 staff for having me!

Saturday night, my gig was originally schedule to be at a place called Sound Factory, but due to some unforeseen plumbing issues, the event was relocated to Recess Nightclub, which I noticed on Friday was literally across the street from Apartment 24, lol. I had the pleasure of meeting a great local DJ by the name of Clinton Lee, and the staff at recess was phenomenal. Shoutout to Gabe Yee, Jasper Yuan, Beung Kwon, and Winnie Kwok of SynergySF for having me!
